Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

The Eucharistic rite is a divine reality that is the very essence of our faith.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest and deacon in distributing Holy Communion to the people.  This lay participation is a manifestation of unity at the Eucharistic table.  Ministers of Holy Communion should be people of prayer who are eager to bring Christ to others in a reverent and loving manner.

Committing ourselves to this ministry involves attending a practice session covering procedures to be followed at the altar.  You will be told about scheduling, sign-in sheets, and the method of purification of the sacred vessels used during Eucharist.
