Hello St. Anthony Family,
Welcome to our Christian Formation Program for 2019–2020! Program and registration documents are available per the links below this introductory letter at the bottom of page and can be printed out.
Please register all your children, K4/K5 and Grades 1 through 11 on the one form. Per the program descriptions, please note the additional fees associated with the 2nd grade Sacraments, the 9th grade retreat, and Confirmation (11th grade). You must also list these on page 2 of the Registration Form under the ‘Program’ and ‘Additional Fee’ columns.
Please carefully read through the Pledge/Volunteer Form defining our parental expectations and listing the many service opportunities that are available for your participation. These responsibilities are not to be taken lightly, and we therefore ask you to prayerfully review the pledge and commit to these expectations with your signature.
We also ask that you read through and reflect on the "Importance of Mass Attendance", “8 Reasons to Go to Mass,” and “Catechesis Within the Family.”
Please read the Parent/Student Handbook! The intent and goals are to more clearly define, in written form, the details of the program, and the responsibilities, expectations, and guidelines for you as parents and your children who are participating in the program. The Handbook will help you and your child(ren) know and understand the basic expectations of the program, and to avoid surprises, especially at the high school level, when a student doesn’t fulfill all the requirements and you are contacted about missing work or activities. If you have questions about the program now or throughout the year, please check the Handbook first before contacting me. Most likely the information related to your question is included. Of course, if you need clarification or have questions not covered in the Handbook please contact me.
The Parent/Student Handbook Acknowledgement Form, found at the end of the Handbook, must be signed by one or both parents, and returned along with the other forms at the time of registration. Your signature will indicate that you have read and understand the handbook’s contents, and pledge that you and your child(ren) will follow its expectations to the best of your ability.
To be eligible for the reception of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, students must be enrolled in St. Anthony Formation classes, or a local private Catholic grade school. Per archdiocesan policy, children cannot receive First Eucharist without first preparing for and receiving First Reconciliation.
To be eligible for the reception of Confirmation as juniors in high school, students not enrolled in a Catholic high school must attend parish RE classes in 9th, 10th and 11th grades. Students enrolled in a Catholic high school must attend parish RE classes in the 11th grade. Students not in a Catholic high school who are currently in 10th or 11th grades and have not attended parish RE classes in 9th and/or 10th grades, must make up the work for those grades to be eligible for Confirmation as a junior, as well as attend parish RE classes in the 11th grade.

Students preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion, typically received in grade 2, are now required to participate in the Children's Choir during this sacramental year. The Children's Choir sings once a month at the 10:30 Mass with practices on Thursday evenings. Having sacramental students sing in the choir affords them a great opportunity to not only learn and sing for Mass, but also to learn more about and achieve a greater understanding of the Mass, while providing a worthy and important service to the parish. This parallels the requirements for the Confirmation students who also perform service hours as part of their preparation for receiving Confirmation.
REMINDER: For grades 1 through 8, parents are highly encouraged to pick up materials for missed classes and work through the content at home, especially when a child's absences are excessive (more than 3 absences). Last year, a number of students missed a third to half or more of the 21 classes.
Here’s a summary of registration information:
Registration Forms for all programs are due on or before July 15th, 2019. Registration is not complete unless all of the following is received:
1. A copy of both pages of the Registration Form completely filled out
2. A copy of the Pledge/Volunteer Form signed, and listing one or more parish activities to meet the 6-hour minimum volunteer requirement
3. A copy of the Parent/Student Handbook Acknowledgement Form signed by one or both parents
4. A minimum payment of $35 for each student at the time of registration
The remainder of tuition/fee payments can be deferred until September. You may also choose from two other available payment plans that are listed on page 2 of the Registration Form.
SCRIP credits earned last year can be applied towards this year’s tuition and fees.
Registration forms and payment can either be dropped off or mailed to the parish office.
- There will be a $25 late fee for registrations received after July 15th and before August 15th
- There will be a $50 late fee for registrations received after August 15th
- There will be a $25 late fee for new parishioners who register after August 30th
- All late fees must be paid at time of registration!
IMPORTANT: Registrations by current parishioners received after August 30th will not be processed until after the first class on September 8th.
You will be mailed a letter confirming your child(ren)'s registration in the program along with class information about a week prior to the start of classes.
The first class for the 2019-2020 RE school year for all grades including the Good Shepherd Program is Sunday, September 8th.
