THE CHURCH ON THE HILL
The growth of the Fussville-Menomonee Falls area is reflected in the growth of Saint
Anthony Parish. From a rural parish serving some 100 families, it?s roster has grown to
approximately 1700 families. Together with this growth and a more complex understanding
of the nature of "Parish Community," work formerly handled totally by the priests is now
delegated to responsible and cooperative lay persons.
PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
"Enlightened by the Holy Spirit, we choose to be a family-oriented faith community,
deeply rooted in history, and called together by the love of God.
We are challenged to seek out Christ, to know and become one with Christ as we know
and become one with each other, so that all who see us see Christ.
We do this by living and sharing the Word of God, with thoughtful prayer and heartfelt
deed, reaching out in the service of all."
CHRISTIAN STEWARDSHIP
Stewardship is based on the understanding that all that we have and all that
we are is a gift from God. We are grateful to God for generously giving
this precious and marvelous gift of life to both enjoy and share with others
The stewardship mantra ? time, talent and treasure ? simply but accurately identifies
our individual and collective gifts from our creator. We show our gratitude for these gifts
by returning a portion of them back to God.
The parish Stewardship Committee exists to promote awareness and identify
opportunities for parish members of all ages to share their gifts with others as an
expression of gratitude and celebration of all God has freely given to each. And, for each
person to experience the spiritual joy and happiness that comes from answering the
invitation to be a Christian steward in working with others to build God's kingdom.

BOY SCOUT TROOP 105
Scouting at Saint Anthony works toward three aims:
1. Character: We define character as what the boy is: his personal
qualities, his values, his outlook.
2. Citizenship: Used broadly, citizenship means the boy's relationship with others.
3. Fitness: Fitness shows itself in four distinct aspects: the body, the mind, the moral fiber,
and the emotions.
All boys 11 through 17 years of age, or who have completed the 5th grade, may join. Scouts are required
to participate in fund-raising activities to supplement the program. Dues are $3.00 per month.
Scouts meet every Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM year round. Our summer schedule varies
due to the needs of the program and the outside activities of the scouts.
Our program includes an extensive outdoor camping program including weekend camping and week-long
residential and trip camping. We have moderate and high adventure programs for the older, more
experienced scouts. Boy Scout Troop 105 also engages in a well-rounded training program to develop
leadership potential in every scout, as well as service to the community.

CHRISTIAN FAMILY MOVEMENT (CFM)
The Mission of CFM is:
To promote Christ-centered marriage and family life;
To help individuals and their families to live the faith in daily life;
To improve society through actions of love, service, education and example.
What can CFM do for your marriage?
CFM promotes Christ-centered marriage and family life and helps couples
grow in their understanding of their Christian vocation as husband and wife.
CFM helps parents improve their family life, providing new insights and
support for tough decisions.
What can CFM do for your family?
CFM creates a community of like-minded families, creating new and lasting friendships.
CFM helps individuals and their families to live their faith in daily life.
What can CFM do for your community?
CFM helps members know that Christ has no body, no hands, no feet, no ears,
no tongue, but they can use theirs to bring the Gospel to the world.
CFM (Christian Family Movement) is active at St. Anthony's parish. Couples meet once a month in
each other's homes and use the Observe, Judge, Act method as they look at different issues such as
marriage, family life, time management, passing on our faith, etc. We use a book to guide us. We also
have family activities throughout the year including our now famous 'White Elephant' Christmas party,
family camping in the summer and a round robin dinner party. We try to do a family service project and a
spiritual activity as well. If you are interested in finding out more about CFM or joining us, please contact:

This ministry is a special combination of the ministry of hospitality and the Eucharistic Ministry. A
Homebound Minister represents the parish by bringing the "Community gathered to celebrate Christ's
presence" to those who are physically unable to assemble with the congregation.
Ministers to the Homebound visit sick parishioners in their homes and use the ritual, Communion for the
Sick, by sharing a Scripture reading and distributing Eucharist. They may act as links to the parish
assembly by bringing a parish bulletin, parish news, and concerns.
Any parish member who has been confirmed, may be a Minister to the Homebound. We especially
encourage family members of the homebound person to be a part of this ministry.

HUMAN CONCERNS COMMITTEE
To lovingly build a world of peace and justice in the name of Jesus Christ is the central
command of the Gospel. The Human Concerns Committee discerns needs of people in the
parish and wider community?especially the poor?and identifies resources to meet those
needs, enlisting the active cooperation of parish members. Opportunities are offered to help fulfill the
justice dimensions of scripture and our Church tradition, acknowledging that every Christian is called to
service and to work for justice.
The four components of the Human Concerns Committee are:
1. DIRECT SERVICE - Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless,
visiting the sick and the imprisoned.
2. JUSTICE EDUCATION - Raise awareness among parishioners on social justice issues and
Catholic social teaching.
3. SOCIAL ACTION & ADVOCACY - Form partnerships with organizations that serve as
advocates for the poor and that work for changes in public policy and societal structures.
4. EMPOWERMENT - Assist the parish to work with social change organizations that
encourage people to take actions themselves on the issues which affect them.
We invite any parishioner interested in becoming involved with Saint Anthony?s Human Concerns
Committee to join us at our monthly meetings or contact any committee member for more information.
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the CFC. All are welcome.

LECTORS - PROCLAIMERS OF THE WORD
As Ministers of the Word, we are John the Baptist proclaiming, "Prepare the way of the Lord!"
All good ministry must be humble, but certainly not timid or lukewarm. We approach our
service boldly, and our task is different from other public speakers. We must communicate that Christ is
present in his word for He himself speaks when the scriptures are read. If you feel called to this ministry,
please contact:

MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest and deacon in distributing Holy Communion to the
people. This lay participation is a manifestation of unity at the Eucharistic table. The Eucharistic rite is a
divine reality that is the very essence of our faith.
Eucharistic Ministers should be people of prayer who are eager to bring Christ to others in a reverent and
loving manner.
Committing ourselves to this ministry, involves attending a practice session covering procedures to be
followed at the altar. You will be told about scheduling, sign-in sheets, and the method of purification of
the sacred vessels used during Eucharist.

MINISTERS OF HOSPITALITY - USHERS/GREETERS
The Ministers of Hospitality here at Saint Anthony have determined their role to be that of
representing the spirit of Saint Anthony's faith community. Their role in serving is to create a Christian
atmosphere for all who come to worship.
Their place at the entrances of the Church normally allows Ushers/Greeters the privilege of making the
first official contact with those who gather for the Eucharist Assembly. Here, the Ushers / "Greeters" role is
critical in creating an atmosphere of hospitality and friendliness among the members of the assembly.
As the Church is people gathered in Christ, Ushers and Greeters therefore, ought to be people-oriented.
Men and women of all ages are encouraged to join this important ministry.

unbaptized persons or those of other Christian denominations. It is also for any adult baptized
Catholic who has never been confirmed. Through the support of individual sponsors and the
greater faith community of Saint Anthony?s people, the candidates celebrate different stages of
commitment to faith in a liturgical rite. The gradual development culminates in the celebration
of the sacraments of Initiation?Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist?at the Holy Saturday
Easter Vigil.
RCIA Class is held on Sundays. The class is dismissed during the 8:00 Mass and meets in the parish
living room. Check the bulletin for exact dates.

PRAYER CHAIN
Saint Anthony?s Prayer Chain was started in the spring of 2002. The purpose of the Prayer Chain
is to involve parish members in praying daily for the intentions of fellow parishioners and others. This is
an opportunity to enrich the spiritual life of our faith community.
The Prayer Chain volunteers are contacted by phone or email when new prayer intentions are requested.
They pray daily, at their convenience, for all those on the Prayer Chain. It is not necessary to say a
separate prayer for each intention. We respect the confidentiality of all requests received.
Some examples of possible prayer requests include, but are not limited to, prayers for those with illnesses,
undergoing surgery, experiencing stress in their lives, prayers for the families of the recently deceased,
those with high risk pregnancy, infertility, etc.
For those looking for a flexible opportunity to participate in a ministry in today?s fast paced, overscheduled
lifestyle, the Prayer Chain may be for you. There are no formal meetings to attend and you do
not have to belong to any other parish organization to join. Volunteers of all ages are welcome!
If interested or to request prayers, please call the Prayer Chain Coordinators:

Help with Fish Fry
Our program offers many options for today's children and their families. We recognize that parents are the first models of faith for their children. Knowing this, we support families by providing a Christian community where children can learn about their Catholic faith.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
The St. Anthony Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a part of an international Catholic organization that seeks to help those in need through person to person involvement. Members visit the sick, shut-ins and those in need of assistance. St. Vincent de Paul activities at St. Anthony are supported by contributions received from within the Parish. There are donation boxes at all church entrances.
The Waukesha County Council, of which the St. Anthony Conference is a part, operates thrift stores in Waukesha and Oconomowoc for the sale of household goods and clothing. Stores are stocked with donated items from throughout the Waukesha County area. If you have any reusable furniture or other large items to donate, please call the Waukesha store at 262-547-3281 for home pick-up.

For over 25 years, the people of St. Anthony Parish have provided a hot meal for the needy at the St. Vincent de Paul meal site at 10th and Madison Streets on Milwaukee's south side. The meal is cooked, served and transported by parishioners on the 4th Wednesday of each month.
The meal consists of Chili Mac, coleslaw, vegetables, canned fruit, bread, dessert, coffee, milk , etc. (28 People cook the hot dish, 22 furnish coleslaw and 32 bake desserts for this program). The parish supplies the vegetable and canned fruit. (Bread, coffee, milk, etc. is also is donated and provided). About 30 people drive and serve. We alternate months so that each person is scheduled to contribute their help six times a year. We customarily serve between 450 and 550 guests each month.

SCRIP
"SCRIP" is a fundraiser for the church and school that does not require you to spend
any extra money. SCRIP has over 100 local and national merchants. Various denominations of
certificates for sale include grocers, gas stations, retail department stores, restaurants, and much
more. Because we pay cash up front, retailers sell the certificates to St. Anthony's at a discount. We
re-sell them for face value and the discount creates revenue for the church or school. You may also
choose to receive credit for purchases toward next year's school tuition or religious education fees.
SCRIP is easy to use and is a great way to support the church and school.
Some of the more common certificates are available for purchase at Direct Sales. Orders can be
placed by filling out the request form and enclosing cash or a check. Blank order forms are available
in the back of church, School Room 105, or the School Office. You can drop off orders at direct
sales or send them to school by 8:30AM the Monday of an order. Watch for Direct Sale and order
dates in the bulletin. Please refer to the SCRIP section of the website, www.stanthony-parish.org for more information.
Volunteers are needed to work as little as once every other month or as much as every other week.
SERVERS (ACOLYTES)
Servers (or acolytes) are part of the ministry for service of the altar. Their role consists of
assisting the celebrant, deacon, and other ministers at Mass and at other liturgical functions.
Such activities include processing with the cross, holding the book for the celebrant, assisting
the priest with other duties, and participating in the liturgy. It is through these actions and
their participation that they express the importance of prayer and symbolic actions.
SAINT ANTHONY'S SENIORS (SAS)
Saint Anthony's Senior Club meets every second and fourth Wednesday. All seniors are
welcome.
We have ice cream socials, speakers, casino trips, play cards and games. Sometimes we just socialize.
Coffee and dessert are served at each meeting. Check Us Out.

VOCATIONS COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Vocations Committee is to create an awareness of the ongoing need for
religious vocations and to provide support for individuals discerning a religious vocation. By
celebrating the Spirit's call to service, the Vocations Committee celebrates the gift of Church
vocations and helps all parishioners to grow in their awareness of how God is calling them to
live out their baptismal vocation.
The Vocations Committee meets collaboratively with the other parishes in the Four Saints and a Good
Shepherd Cluster. The Cluster group schedules meeting dates when all groups can attend.
You Are Welcome to Join Us...
An invitation is extended to all parishioners to join any of our many listed
organizations and societies. If you have questions or suggestions concerning the
various groups, please feel free to call the officers or contact persons in charge. New
ideas and constructive criticism are always welcome.
